The Way Advance Wedding Planning Checklist

Pick a date and a backup date in case your ceremony or reception locations are already booked. Many people book over a year ahead.

Decide what you and your family can and wants to afford. This may well be the most important occasion in your life, but you want to be able to live your life in comfort when all the parties are over. With advance planning, you should be able to stay within your family's budget.

Based on the dollars you have available, decide the how many guests you will invite and the formality of your wedding. Note that guest lists typically grow, so start a little smaller than your budget affords you. Large catered informal engagement parties are a way to share your joy with many friends that cannot be included on your wedding day, either due to cost or due to the venue selected.

Book the ceremony location, the reception location, and any officiant necessary and everything will fall into place from there.

The Advance Wedding Planning Checklist

Choose and hire your services. They may include many of the following: wedding planner consultant, wedding cake, caterer, live entertainment, DJ, flowers, transportation, and honeymoon travel.

Don't forget about hiring us :) to do your wedding photography and wedding video. If we are booked, we will refer other professionals we know. Remember, video not only captures the sense of sight, it captures the sense of sound too.

Follow-up Wedding Planning Checklist

Even if you have a wedding coordinator, you need to follow-up and double check to see if everything on your wedding planning lists are going as planned. Wedding logistics are complex, but if everyone is checking on progress, chances are great that everything will run smoothly on your wedding day.
