Wedding Video Questions

Is taking video going to be intrusive?

No more so than still photography. In certain cases, even less so. We use a wireless mic, so you have the option of moving our camera to the back of a room and still get quality sound. On the other hand, you may want us to be a little intrusive at the reception as you visit with your guests. It's your wedding and it's all up to you.

What type of lighting will you use?

We do not usually use any special lighting. Special lighting is intrusive. Our low lux camera can acquire good video in most wedding conditions.

How long have you been in business?

We have been in the multi-media business since 1996. We starting working with digital video in 1999.

What do you charge?

See our Fees webpage for details. We tried to make it as complete as it can be. We are up front with our prices, so you are not pressured into calling us just to find out what we charge. Everyone has a budget and you should not feel uncomfortable to ask what something costs or how to get the best value. Contact us, if anything is unclear and certainly if you have questions.

Do you charge extra for travel?

For the most part, yes, but our fees are so competitive that even with our travel costs, your total costs may be lower than our competition in your local area. We do not charge extra for shooting at locations in the Albuquerque New Mexico. Travel to San Diego, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, is typically less than $300. Travel costs to most of mainland USA are less than $500. We schedule our arrival at least one day before any work is to be performed. For example, we will schedule a flight to arrive on Thursday, if we are shooting your rehearsal dinner on Friday. All travel costs will be set in advance and put into our contract.

Do I have to pay extra for DVD?

No. DVD is our standard.

What if I don't want DVD?

We offer VHS tapes too.

When will my DVD wedding be ready?

We offer one of the faster, if not the fastest turn around time in New Mexico. We usually ship within two weeks after your Wedding Day.

Do you use wireless microphones?

Do you offer non-linear editing?

Yes. We use Final Cut Pro.

Do you have a written contract?

Yes. We discuss and put to paper all the services you want to purchase. As you can see from this website, the goal is to help you know exactly what you are paying for.

Do you require a retainer fee?

Yes. A minimum $250 non-refundable retainer fee is required to confirm your wedding date.

Why is the down payment non-refundable?

Think of the down payment as a reservation for our services. If we are working for you, we cannot work for someone else at the same time. There are only a limited number of opportunities for us to videotape weddings each year.

Can I have a friend or relative videotape my wedding for me?

Having a friend tape your wedding is certainly better than not having a wedding tape at all, yet there are many factors to consider. Does your friend have the equipment and skill to do the job? If so, are you willing to have them miss out in the sharing of the moment? Unlike, baking a wedding cake in advance of the wedding, video is taken of the moment. You cannot throw the garter to the person operating the camera! Just as you have to consider who will bake the cake, cook the food, play the music, and sew your wedding dress, you have to decide what is most important to you. Remember, this is your wedding day. This is your day to remember. We DO offer editing services at reasonable prices, if you choose to have someone else take the video.
